Get to Know Me! Shanna Hebert, Urban Quarry Account Manager

On the road visiting showrooms, or out on the town with clients – you may recognize Urban Quarry Account Manager, Shanna Hebert from photos on our social media or perhaps through her new volunteer based role as Communications Officer on the NKBA committee. She’s smart, talented, passionate and fun – a perfect fit for this industry and her role with the Urban Quarry team.

She started her journey by graduating from the Interior Decorating program at Algonquin College. From there she started working in the decorating department of Linen Chest, followed by a job with Richcraft Homes – positions that set her up perfectly for a job with Karhu Fine Cabinetry and Millwork in Carleton Place. From 2009 to 2016, she worked on a variety of custom kitchens, baths and furniture design – which is where she was introduced to Urban Quarry. She became knowledgeable and passionate about Cambria and granite, selling those products for her clients’ projects.

It was at that time where Urban Quarry offered her a contract position for inside sales. With a full understanding of the technical background behind product pricing, the materials and how stones are fabricated – Shanna felt this was a perfect opportunity in a family-owned and operated company that she just couldn’t pass up! Now with us for two years, the first year in sales, and the second year as an Account Manager, Shanna is able to continue in an industry she loves while being able to travel, network and continue to grow her skills surrounded by a team she loves and respects.

A mentor, client and friend, Shanna has confided in Better Baths by Design owner Pat – who, as a client of Urban Quarry’s for 20 plus years, is teaching Shanna about the ups and downs of sales, understanding the different city markets, and client communication skills. What’s exciting to see happening today is an industry boom where people are becoming more adventurous with their styles and design. Cambria has really pushed ahead in the market in terms of marketing Dragon Vision – an online tool which is helping customers envision various designs in their own homes. It’s such an exciting time to see these intricate and (sometimes) outrageous new designs launching every few months.

So we had to ask Shanna, “what’s your favourite Cambria design?” She states: “Skara Brae.” I swear Cambria designed this for me. I first fell in love with Brittanicca. It’s classic, it’s got elegance, the refinement, it’s sexy. It tells a story. That’s one thing I love when people want to invest in their home – they like knowing the story of the type of wood, knowing the inspiration behind a design, little stories they can tell when they bring people into their new space. But for Skara Brae, the colours are me, on a personality level.”

Don’t be shy, Shanna loves to answer any and all questions Cambria, so send her a note (shanna@urbanquarry.ca) – even just to say hi or to talk design!
