Founder’s Retirement: After 35+ years of dedicated leadership, Urban Quarry Founder, Laurent Bellavance is preparing to embark on a new adventure: retirement. Laurent is stepping down from his role as CEO to focus on spending time with his family, nurturing his health and pursuing his passions which include woodworking and travel. His contributions to Urban Quarry have been immeasurable, and his legacy will forever be a part of our company’s fabric.
“Today, as I begin a new chapter in my life, I am so grateful to the UQ family, partners and customers who have helped build on my vision for this business. I’m confident that the new executive team will flourish in growing the family culture and values built over the past 37 years and I’m looking forward to seeing them take the company to new heights.”

With Laurent’s retirement on the horizon, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of a management buyout for the current executive team. This milestone marks a pivotal moment as we enter this new phase of our company’s history.
Continuity in Leadership
Serge Bellavance (VP, Sales and Marketing) and Mireille Bellavance (VP, Operations) will continue as co-owners while President, Bob Gould, and General Manager, Brian Gray, will now assume new ownership roles. This transition will not alter the roles and responsibilities of our dedicated executive team who have contributed significantly to the success of Urban Quarry.
“I am excited about the opportunity to move this company into its next chapter with continual growth. I want to personally thank the Bellavance family for their belief in me and for affording me the chance to lead Urban Quarry into the future. Looking forward to working alongside new partners Serge, Mireille and Brian.”
– Bob Gould, President
